About the role
- Take ownership of projects in a fast-paced startup environment, demonstrating a tolerance for ambiguity and a proactive approach to getting things done
- Design, build, and maintain mission-critical services in both Kotlin and Go on Kubernetes
- Leverage Kafka and KStreams in asynchronous processing of security data
- Champion and implement best practices for building highly available, fault-tolerant, and observable distributed systems suitable for top-tier financial and government clients
- Drive performance tuning and optimization efforts to meet stringent latency and reliability requirements
- Mentor other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pair programming to elevate the team's technical excellence
- Collaborate closely with product managers and security researchers to translate requirements for the AQtive Guard solution into robust and scalable technical designs
Requirements
- 5+ years of production experience in a DevOps, Platform, or Developer Productivity role
- Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining complex CI/CD pipelines
- Production experience with build systems & toolchains spanning multiple languages
- Advanced scripting and software development skills for building automation and internal tools (e.g., Go, Python, Bash)
- Experience managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining services in Kotlin and Go on Kubernetes
- Experience leveraging Kafka and KStreams for asynchronous processing
- Expertise building highly available, fault-tolerant, and observable distributed systems
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization for low-latency, high-throughput systems
- Proven ability to thrive on a small team in a fast-paced, fluid environment
- Deep expertise in designing, building, and scaling modern CI/CD systems and developer automation
- Nice-to-haves: knowledge of security-related concepts and technologies; familiarity with Bazel; proficiency in Rust and Python; general knowledge of cryptography
