About the role

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms
  • Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability.
  • Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues
  • Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions
  • Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including: - SD-WAN implementation and optimization - Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ThousandEyes, AppDynamics) - Security integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)
  • Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts
  • Ensure compliance with Agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership.
  • Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of supervisory/management experience in network operations
  • Proven experience leading teams, providing direction, and driving results
  • Strong understanding of enterprise network operations (WAN/LAN/Wireless)
  • Experience managing incident, problem, and change management processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Minimum of 7 years’ of experience with administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a networking team in a highly complex environment.
  • 5 Years of Experienced with implementation and support of 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environment.
