About the role
- Collaboratively assist inpatients to regain independence in daily activities to return home
- Support occupational therapists and AHA colleagues with therapeutic, administrative and stock management tasks
- Run the south wing OT breakfast group
- Provide education on falls, hip precautions, energy conservation, and fatigue management
- Teach adaptation strategies for independent living
Requirements
- Open to qualified cert IV AHA’s and occupational therapy students (at least 2nd year)
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully (verbal and written documentation)
- Excellent time management and prioritisation
- Compassionate commitment to consumer focused care and teamwork
- Experience in screening, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic activities with patients both individually and in group settings.
- Ability to critically analyse own performance and acknowledge responsibility for learning
- Optimistic & flexible approach to prepare for healthcare challenges
