About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide general oversight of the current and future usage of the DPS application stack
  • Partner with the product owner to evaluate technology use for evolving business requirements
  • Perform lifecycle management of applications within the assigned area
  • Provide tier 2 support and assistance with software issues
  • Design appropriate software solutions and liaise between departments and IT services
  • Assist in determining equipment requirements
  • Develop Structured Query Language (SQL) code; install and test completed programs and revisions
  • Ensure solutions promote simplification, accuracy and an increasingly higher level of productivity for users
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new processes/policies
  • Support a culture of service, process orientation, best practice, and cost-effective management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field; supplemented with 1-3 years of related experience
  • Associate’s degree accepted with 5+ years of related experience, preferably in higher education or public safety
  • Previous product management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of applications in the assigned applications stack
  • Excellent analytical, collaboration, and facilitation skills
  • Effective at negotiation and the ability to drive collaboration through open and transparent discussion of competing priorities for resources
  • Demonstrated experience in managing relationships and engaging leadership and other stakeholders
