About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure real-time observability and robust monitoring for production infrastructure and applications
Analyze system health and performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents
Perform weekly upgrades and patching of the application factory and underlying infrastructure
Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems
Perform patches, upgrades, and system hardening to address vulnerabilities
Identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with security policies and best practices
Automate environment configurations at build time
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code workflows using Packer, Terraform, Ansible, and scripts
Update, patch, and conduct cyber reviews for self-hosted Amazon AMIs
Manage and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Collaborate with development teams to ensure pipeline uptime and smooth usage
Apply security controls including RBAC, secure namespaces, and monitoring/auditing practices
Collaborate with development, operations, and cybersecurity teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years or more experience; Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience; or PhD and 0 years related experience with six years of experience
Security+ Certification
Must have an active Secret Clearance
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, or equivalent
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Packer, GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines
Proficiency in Bash, Python, and PowerShell
Expertise in Linux, including RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu, and working knowledge of Windows Server environments
Experience managing AWS cloud environments
Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, including DoD STIGs, NIST, and CIS benchmarks
