About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate as the pilot and other controllers in an air traffic controller training simulator
- Operate simulated radar display and voice communication systems during medium- and high-fidelity training exercises
- Receive voice commands from students and enter appropriate automated-system inputs to simulate pilot actions
- Translate displayed information into appropriate ATC terminology
- Respond to students through the voice communication system using proper phraseology
- Complete Classroom certification by passing tests on airspace and procedures
- Complete Lab certification by performing as a Remote Pilot Operator in all positions
- Support FAA air traffic controller training services through the SAIC Controller Training Solutions team
Requirements
What you’ll need- US citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to read and interpret diagrams and manuals
- Ability to speak clearly and be understood
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team desired
- ATC Tower, TRACON, or En Route simulation lab experience and certification strongly desired but not required
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of FAAO JO 7110.65 strongly desired but not required
- MS Office Suite proficiency
- Basic familiarity with current technology tools such as tablets, notebooks, and applications
- Basic familiarity with or experience in pilot/controller communications or phraseology
