About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute data-sharing review processes for established research communities
  • Assist with initiatives enabling responsible biomedical data sharing using governance approaches such as data access controls
  • Apply solutions to emerging privacy considerations and update compliance methods
  • Monitor and coordinate responses to data access support requests
  • Implement and champion data-sharing systems that protect research participants and preserve scientific integrity
  • Assist with policies, processes, and structures governing research design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination
  • Aid adherence to ethical, legal, and institutional requirements
  • Contribute to incident investigations and CAPA plans related to data access
  • Monitor activities and report to stakeholders
  • Respond to data access requests and support internal coordinators and external data requesters
  • Track data-sharing agreements, gather and report metrics, and document work processes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as life sciences, public health, public administration, or social sciences
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in a research setting involving human biomedical data
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices related to human research data
  • Experience using and/or improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or other process documentation
  • Familiarity with incident investigation processes, root cause analysis, and CAPA plans
  • Experience with documentation/task management tools such as Google Suite, MS Suite, Confluence, or Jira
  • Written and verbal communication skills across various audiences and mediums
  • Understanding of F.A.I.R. data sharing and ethical research principles for human biomedical research
  • Strong digital literacy and eagerness to learn new software and tools
  • Familiarity with scientific biomedical research language
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity as project and business needs change
  • Ability to sustain focus during computer-based and reading-intensive tasks
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, priorities, and multitask
  • Travel required at least twice per year for on-site events in Seattle, WA
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and maintain professionalism
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations
