About the role
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims involving alleged construction defects.
- Review building plans, codes, and specifications to assess liability, damages, and coverage.
- Manage communication with policyholders, builders, attorneys, and other stakeholders to set expectations and move claims toward resolution.
- Provide clear written and verbal reports, outlining coverage positions and resolution strategies.
- Participate in mediations and litigation processes, as needed.
- For senior or complex claims: navigate advanced coverage issues, risk transfer strategies, coordinate with counsel, and drive resolution planning.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of construction defect claims handling experience.
- Litigation and mediation experience preferred.
- Proven ability to review and analyze coverage, liability, and damages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present matters clearly and professionally.
- Experience with claims involving threshold exposures of $100K+.
- Active adjuster’s license required.
