About the role

  • Independently leads and serves as main point of contact for $1.25M-1.75M in revenue for retainer accounts
  • Manages consistent client communication across the team
  • Leads and participates in new business sessions and identifies/pitches additional services to existing clients
  • Leads new client onboarding processes
  • Identifies and secures an array of media placements including high-profile and feature opportunities for clients across the team
  • Sets and manages the campaign strategy including the development of strategic PR plans
  • Develops and maintains relationships with all media outlets including trades, broadcast and national media
  • Secures “big” media hits such as cover stories and features
  • Manages unique story angles and timely pitches across the account to generate consistent client exposure
  • Assists clients to media events and tours
  • Manages, mentors, develops and evaluates subordinate team members including: Media relations from generating pitches to consistently securing media placements
  • Effectively manages client budgets while balancing appropriate service levels vs. client deliverables and expectations
  • Ensures team’s success with timeline, execution, client satisfaction, retention and profitability
  • Reviews and finalizes key campaign messages
  • Reviews and finalizes Company generated content before sharing with clients
  • Acts as a steward of the JConnelly brand, consistently representing and reflecting the Company’s core values, approach and high standards of excellence in all client, media and public interactions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum 10-15 years successful industry related experience with an emphasis on managing client relationships
  • One to three years supervisory experience required
  • Proven capability in proactively determining client requirements, developing new ideas, and recommending appropriate strategies and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize/prioritize work, handle details accurately, follow up with minimum supervision, and complete tasks within specified deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with various software applications including the full Office suite, as well as social media channels
  • Proficiency in PR related software including but not limited to Cision, Meltwater, Sprout, Hootsuite etc.
