About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts on wind turbine electrical and electromechanical systems, acting as a go-to technical expert for complex field issues
  • Serve as a turbine generalist, understanding interactions across electrical, mechanical, and control systems to diagnose and resolve cross-functional issues
  • Analyze generator, converter, and balance-of-plant failure modes, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Drive and/or oversee root cause analyses (RCA) for major component failures, translating findings into actionable corrective measures
  • Develop repair strategies, technical specifications, and qualification requirements for components and vendor services
  • Collaborate with Asset Management, O&M, and Project teams to optimize fleet performance and reliability
  • Lead or contribute to standardization of engineering practices, commissioning processes, and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of AI methodologies and tools, with the ability to apply them to complex engineering and operational challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wind energy or power generation
  • Proven experience in commissioning, field engineering, or operations support
  • Strong background in troubleshooting complex electrical systems, preferably in wind turbines
  • Turbine Generalist Mindset: Ability to understand and troubleshoot across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Commissioning Expertise: Experience with system startup, validation, and transition to operations
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, both remote and hands-on
  • Root Cause Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead or facilitate RCA processes and implement lasting solutions
  • Component Knowledge: Familiarity with generators, converters, switchgear, and major wind turbine subsystems
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with OEMs, contractors, and internal teams
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Experience using operational data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Communication & Leadership: Capable of influencing teams and clearly conveying technical findings
  • Adaptability & Ownership: Thrives in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
