About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- You develop modern data and AI solutions based on Databricks.
- You build robust batch and streaming pipelines using Python, SQL, Spark and PySpark.
- You contribute to lakehouse architectures for analytics, ML and GenAI use cases.
- You work with core Databricks components such as Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, MLflow, Model Serving and Vector Search.
- You support the implementation and further development of ML, LLM and GenAI use cases.
- You work on topics such as serving, retrieval, evaluation, monitoring and governance for AI applications.
- You integrate various source systems such as APIs, databases, ERP or CRM systems.
- You support requirements related to data quality, security, governance and observability.
- You work with Git, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code on production deployments.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Practical experience (from initial to several years) in Data Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, AI Engineering or a comparable role.
- Good knowledge of Databricks.
- Strong skills in Python, SQL, Spark and PySpark.
- Practical experience with at least one cloud platform, ideally Azure or AWS.
- Experience in building or advancing modern cloud data platforms.
- Experience with MLflow, model serving and vector search, ideally in a Databricks environment.
- Basic to solid understanding of modern AI/LLM concepts, e.g., RAG, retrieval, evaluation, serving and production-ready GenAI applications.
- Good understanding of lakehouse architectures, data modeling and production data processes.
- Initial experience in data governance, data quality, security and monitoring.
- Confident in using Git and ideally initial experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- University degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
- Structured, independent and solution-oriented working style.
- Very good German and good English language skills.
