About the role
- Lead and manage design and construction administration for municipal water supply projects, including wells, treatment systems, storage, booster stations, and distribution pipelines
- Conduct and oversee planning studies, such as well siting, capacity evaluations, and system modeling
- Prepare technical documents including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and regulatory permit applications
- Coordinate with internal design teams, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and compliant project delivery
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and responsive project management
- Engage in business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and contract negotiations
- Mentor and support staff by sharing technical knowledge and fostering professional development
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies related to water supply and treatment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin required
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in water supply design and construction administration
- At least 2 years of experience in project management and/or business development roles
- Proven expertise in areas such as:
- Water supply planning and modeling
- Well siting and permitting
- Treatment design (e.g., iron, radium, PFAS)
- Distribution system design (pipelines, booster stations, storage)
- Construction oversight and contractor coordination
- Experience with client communication, business development strategy, and proposal development
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
