About the role
- Collaborate with the artists, designers and programmers to integrate assets in the engine
- Maintain and improve the efficiency in workflows, content pipelines and develop tools for artists
- Write and maintain efficient shaders that support the art direction of the game
- Analyze and improve art asset inefficiencies and optimize game performance by working with artists and programmers
- Collaborate with design teams by creating mock ups and prototype assets
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in game development
- Advanced knowledge of building and creating tools for Unreal Engine
- A solid understanding of modeling, texture and material creation pipelines
- Advanced knowledge of writing shaders for Unreal Engine
- Understanding of technical limitations with art creating pipelines
- Ability to evaluate needs of the art team and to help create tools to increase efficiency
- Proven ability to work with art teams to deliver on the games artistic vision
- Excellent skills in organization, communication and team collaboration
- Knowledge of content creation software: 3ds Max, Maya, Substance or Photoshop
- Good understanding of procedural generation of content and machine learning
