About the role
- Lead and manage accounting project teams, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
- Develop and implement strategic process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction
- Support the AFC team on various accounting projects
- Demonstrate basic to intermediate knowledge of complex financial accounting concepts
- Supervise the full accounting cycle, including preparation of journal entries, data validation, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to provide insights into the company's financial performance
- Execute and oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely financial reporting
- Review and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy
- Supervise, perform and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee payroll accounting and perform related monthly reconciliations
- Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and internal controls
- Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes
Requirements
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
- 5+ years of experience in a hands-on role involving full cycle accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software packages
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and the month-end close processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Experience with systems implementation and process improvement (preferred)
