About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate reports of illegal eviction, harassment and housing-related discrimination
- Support vulnerable residents to understand and exercise their rights
- Use available enforcement tools to investigate offending
- Work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team
- Work with tenants, landlords, letting agents and partner organisations
- Apply housing legislation to resolve disputes and prevent homelessness
- Take enforcement action where necessary
- Gather evidence and build cases against non-compliant landlords and agents
- Support legal proceedings where necessary
- Contribute to improvements across the private rented sector
- Deliver proactive enforcement and tenant support
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in housing enforcement, tenancy relations or a similar regulatory environment
- Good understanding of housing legislation and practical application of enforcement powers
- Knowledge of unlawful eviction, harassment and tenant protections
- Ability to investigate complex cases
- Ability to gather and assess evidence
- Experience managing competing priorities
- Ability to support legal proceedings where necessary
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to explain legal requirements clearly
- Effective negotiation skills
