About the role

  • Implement and maintain access policies (IAM), catalog tags, and security rules using Terraform or Python scripts.
  • Actively work in Git environments, responsible for opening and reviewing Pull Requests (PRs) related to schema definitions, metadata, and data infrastructure.
  • Develop Python scripts for automated data quality monitoring and alerting.
  • Write complex SQL queries in BigQuery for data auditing, business rule validation, and identification of inconsistencies.
  • Map data lineage not only visually but also ensure technical dependencies are documented within pipelines (Dataform, Airflow, or dbt).
  • Configure and test row- and column-level security via DDL and scripts.

Requirements

  • Expertise in GCP with deep knowledge of Dataplex, Data Catalog, Cloud DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and BigQuery, working on the implementation and maintenance of data governance practices.
  • Ability to develop Python scripts for integration with GCP APIs, automating metadata cleaning, validation, and enrichment processes.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, especially Standard SQL in BigQuery, for technical analyses, view creation, and structuring governance-oriented layers.
  • Experience with code versioning using Git, applying workflows such as Gitflow, branch management, and code review best practices.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for provisioning and standardizing governance resources in GCP.
  • Understanding of integrating governance rules and controls into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring consistency, traceability, and automation in continuous deployment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK.
