About the role
- Develop, maintain and evolve scalable, high-performance data pipelines using modern analytics engineering tools, with a strong focus on DBT.
- Design and implement robust, reusable and well-documented data models, built on modern architectures in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, among others.
- Automate processes for data ingestion, transformation and delivery, ensuring efficiency and reliability across the entire data lifecycle.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, security and integrity by applying engineering best practices, automated testing and validations.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts and data scientists to support data-driven decision making.
- Create and maintain clear, up-to-date technical documentation, including versioning standards, data tests, linters and DBT best practices.
- Monitor pipelines and data flows, proactively identifying, analyzing and resolving failures with a focus on observability and logging.
- Contribute to data governance initiatives, supporting cataloging, metadata and the use of tools such as Data Catalog.
Requirements
- Experience as a Data Engineer with significant focus on DBT.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), particularly BigQuery, Cloud Storage and Dataflow or Dataform.
- Proficiency with DBT, preferably in collaborative environments using Git for code versioning and change control.
- Advanced SQL knowledge, including query optimization, use of CTEs, complex joins, subqueries and window functions.
- Experience with code versioning (Git) and working in teams that use agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong experience in data modeling, with knowledge of approaches such as Star Schema, Snowflake and Third Normal Form (3NF).
- Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data architectures.
