About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate patients' strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture, and muscle performance
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluations and clinical guidelines
- Administer manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy
- Educate patients and families on recovery, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with professional standards and regulations
- Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals
- Supervise and instruct physical therapy assistants or aides when applicable
- Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment
- Stay current with physical therapy practices, research, and innovations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Current and active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the job's state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation standards
- More than 1 year of clinical or hospital experience
- Ability to pass required hospital health requirements, including drug screening and background check
- Neuro experience highly preferred
- Ability to perform frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and regularly push and pull
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating equipment
