About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver the Cooling Water Island design work package within the Temelin programme
- Deliver project scope safely, on time, and within budget
- Maintain robust project plans with support from Project Planners
- Forecast and manage project finances alongside Cost Engineers
- Support resource planning and mobilisation across the work package
- Lead day-to-day collaboration with engineering and programme teams
- Identify and manage project risks and implement mitigation plans
- Monitor project performance and escalate issues where required
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
- Support engagement with customers, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with project management governance, processes, and procedures
- Report to a Senior Project Manager or Programme Manager
- Work with Engineering Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently
- Participate in additional screening required for nuclear-industry safety regulations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects in multidisciplinary environments
- Strong capability in planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and change management
- Experience with project controls, including schedule and cost management
- Confidence using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar project management systems
- Understanding of project delivery in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, energy, or infrastructure
- Awareness of nuclear safety culture and regulatory requirements
- Experience delivering or supporting Balance of Plant, Cooling Water Systems, Conventional Island, or other major engineering packages
- Experience working across mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines
- Understanding of interactions among engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory activities in large-scale programmes
- Good understanding of engineering project lifecycles and delivery models
- Experience working in complex regulatory environments
- Exposure to licensing, consenting, or regulatory-body interface management advantageous
- Ability to build relationships across technical and non-technical teams
- Confidence communicating project status, risks, and issues to varied stakeholders
- Strong influencing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex topics
- International-team experience beneficial
- Czech language skills or previous Czech Republic experience advantageous, not essential
- Ownership, accountability, organisation, proactivity, adaptability, and collaborative approach
- A degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Project management certification such as APM PMQ or equivalent experience
- Proven experience delivering engineering, infrastructure, or capital projects
- Understanding of commercial, procurement, supply chain, or project controls activities
- Experience managing stakeholders within complex project environments
- Nuclear-sector experience beneficial but not essential
- Applicants must complete BPSS clearance, a DBS check, and a basic financial probity check
