About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the strategic management, governance, and performance of global logistics partners
  • Ensure end-to-end logistics execution aligns with business objectives, cost targets, and service levels across multiple geographies
  • Act as the key interface between internal stakeholders and external logistics partners
  • Lead an indirect headcount of approximately 30 initially
  • Develop and execute logistics partner strategies with the global 3PL/4PL network and local transport partners
  • Incorporate regional requirements and operational resilience into logistics partner strategies
  • Deliver a contracted and governed logistics partner ecosystem with measurable service-level compliance and recovery protocols
  • Develop and manage performance dashboards tracking cost, HSE, vehicle status, and environmental KPIs
  • Manage logistics budgets and cost models
  • Deliver cost reduction and value engineering initiatives without compromising service
  • Drive continuous innovation, risk mitigation, and long-term value creation
  • Engage regularly across company sites and logistics partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Deep understanding of multimodal freight
  • Deep understanding of 3PL/4PL ecosystems
  • Experience with ERP-based performance reporting
  • Focus on service excellence and continuous innovative solutions
  • Hands-on experience strategically managing global logistics providers or freight forwarders across the UK and Europe
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, energy, or nuclear/aerospace environments is advantageous
  • CIPS, PMP, or MCILT is advantageous
  • Ability to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
  • Satisfactory completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Satisfactory completion of a basic financial probity check
  • Willingness to work hybrid from the Derby, Manchester, or Warrington offices and engage regularly across sites and partners
