About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee all aspects of the laboratory revenue cycle, billing, and reimbursement operations
Manage the full end-to-end laboratory revenue cycle including charge capture, claim submission, payment posting, and A/R follow-up
Supervise and develop a billing team of approximately 40
Ensure accurate CPT (80000 series) and ICD-10 coding for all laboratory procedures in compliance with payer, Medicare, and Medicaid requirements
Oversee claim edits, denials, appeals, and reimbursement optimization
Establish and maintain SOPs, KPIs, and billing workflows to improve accuracy and compliance
Collaborate with laboratory operations, finance, and IT to resolve billing or system issues
Prepare RCM performance reports and identify revenue leakage, denial trends, and process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience in clinical laboratory billing, including CPT and ICD-10 coding for lab services
Experience with AdvancedMD preferred
Supervisory or management role in a medical billing department for at least three (3) years is preferred
