About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development of automated RF test solutions for connectivity and vehicle access ECUs
- Design and build automated test equipment for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, cellular LTE/5G, UWB, NFC, and GNSS
- Develop conducted and over-the-air setups, shield boxes/chambers, RF switch matrices, and cabled path calibration
- Define test requirements and testing strategies with RF, antenna, and electronics design teams
- Specify RF path budgets, calibration strategies, and fixture designs for software and hardware automation teams
- Develop custom Python test sequences using the standard automation framework and AI coding agents
- Integrate firmware, hardware, and software end-to-end, including DUT bring-up, radio test modes, vendor commands, bootloaders, flashing flows, and instrument controls
- Build reliability lab and high-volume manufacturing test solutions
- Create documented test cases, calibration procedures, and operating procedures
- Lead deployment using GR&R, CPK, stress testing, and fault injection
- Collaborate with validation, reliability, EMC, regulatory/homologation, carrier certification, and product launch teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/MS or equivalent work experience in Electrical, Electronics, or RF Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant experience designing automated test equipment (ATE) for electronics, including meaningful RF/wireless experience
- Hands-on experience testing at least two of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, cellular (LTE/5G), UWB, NFC, and GNSS
- Experience with RF test instrumentation, including vector signal analyzers/generators, wireless connectivity testers, spectrum analyzers, VNAs, GNSS simulators, power meters, programmable attenuators, and RF switch matrices
- Understanding of RF fundamentals, including path loss, cable/fixture calibration, VSWR, return loss, shielding, isolation, de-embedding, and conducted versus OTA measurement tradeoffs
- Ability to read electrical circuits and schematics, navigate PCB layouts, and understand product data sheets
- Experience in automotive, wireless/consumer electronics, semiconductor, or aerospace industries
- Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, DoIP, Automotive Ethernet, and LIN
- Experience with industrial buses and protocols including USB, VISA, GPIB, Ethernet, Serial, RS-485, SPI, and I2C
- Experience supporting automated test equipment deployment in manufacturing environments
- Experience with programmable power supplies, multiplexers, DMMs, signal generators, and multifunction DAQ devices
- Solid Python programming experience
- Demonstrated use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, or similar, with human verification of generated code
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
