About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and execute durability, electrical, and functional validation testing for component-level Electronic Control Units (ECUs), focusing on electrical stress testing
  • Develop detailed test plans, test scripts, and test fixtures with HW/SW design teams
  • Establish traceability using requirements management tools and version control
  • Develop test strategies and test cases; review functional and environmental test plans
  • Provide data analytics from conducted tests
  • Create test development and execution schedules
  • Investigate test failures through data analysis and failure reproduction
  • Identify and assess risks affecting project timing, cost, or quality
  • Improve the safety, performance, and customer satisfaction of Rivian products
  • Collaborate with Design and Engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience testing automotive or Aerospace/Defense products
  • 3+ years of related experience designing and developing electronics products
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with laboratory testing and equipment, including bench-level, thermal chamber, electrical, and EMC testing
  • Soldering and harness fabrication experience preferred
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Software, Electrical, and Design teams
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 testing laboratory requirements
  • Familiarity with ISO 16750-2 and ISO 21780 electrical test standards
  • Working knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and FlexRay automotive communication systems
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings
  • LabVIEW, TestStand, and CAPL programming skills preferred
  • Ability to analyze product requirements and determine test strategies
  • Working knowledge of requirements management tools such as JIRA and JAMA
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with cross-functional teams
