About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete design assignments related to building upgrades, maintenance, restoration, and rehabilitation of existing structures, as well as building envelope components for new construction projects.
- Investigate and diagnose failures in existing building envelope systems and develop effective repair solutions.
- Conduct constructability reviews and third-party peer reviews of plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Manage building envelope projects and multidisciplinary teams for both new and existing construction, ensuring quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) throughout project delivery.
- Perform failure investigations and condition assessments of commercial and residential buildings and provide litigation support when required.
- Research building histories, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements, including historical and current code provisions.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Prepare technical reports, condition assessments, repair designs, bid documents, specifications, addenda, change orders, and related construction documentation.
- Conduct site visits, field observations, and construction phase services.
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen client relationships through exceptional service and technical expertise.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- - Building envelope design
- - Building envelope investigations
- - Construction document preparation
- - Construction administration services
- - Building construction project management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong report writing skills and demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, scopes, and schedules.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Strong critical thinking and sound professional judgment.
