About the role
- Administer, monitor, and secure enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation
- Manage and harden Linux-based systems (servers, appliances, and security tools)
- Implement and maintain Splunk for log aggregation, security monitoring, alerting, and dashboards
- Analyze security logs and network traffic to detect, investigate, and respond to security incidents
- Develop and maintain Splunk searches, reports, and alerts to support SOC and compliance requirements
- Perform vulnerability assessments, security audits, and remediation activities
- Apply security patches, updates, and configuration changes across network and Linux environments
- Support incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and post-incident reporting
- Collaborate with IT, SOC, and application teams to improve security architecture and processes
- Document network security configurations, procedures, and incident response actions
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
Requirements
- - Active DoD Secret Clearance is mandatory.
- - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- - 3+ years of experience in network security or systems administration
- - Holding a DoD IAT Level III certification (such as CISSP, CCNP, CISA, CASP+) is a must
- - Strong experience administering and securing Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.)
- - Hands-on experience with Splunk (Enterprise and/or Splunk ES) for log analysis and security monitoring
- - Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and network security principles
- - Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools
- - Experience responding to security incidents and conducting forensic analysis
- - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills

- *Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $110,000 to $125,000 (annually).
