About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate and evaluate retail general liability claims promptly and thoroughly
- Communicate with insured parties, claimants, witnesses, and other relevant stakeholders to gather necessary information
- Determine coverage and liability for each claim based on policy terms and applicable laws
- Conduct site inspections and document findings to assess damages and liability
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and/or their representatives
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal counsel and claims management, to resolve complex claims efficiently
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in handling retail general liability claims
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, coverage, and regulations
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and meetings as needed
