About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist the Shift Supervisor directing the work of a Team of hourly production workers
Act as an Operator when the Shift Supervisor is present
Complete delegated tasks from the Shift Supervisor
Support and drive direction provided by the Shift Supervisor
Act as a back up Supervisor when the Shift Supervisor is unavailable
Model safe behaviors, enforce policies and procedures
Ensure safety, housekeeping, regulatory compliance, quality, and productivity
Provide personnel and troubleshooting guidance
Sustain a high-performing workforce in the Shift Supervisor’s absence
Supervise personnel and resources to meet production schedules and goals
Conduct safety and housekeeping ‘rounds’
Sustain a culture of quality within the Team
Manage a Team of approximately 15 employees
Direct shift production operations to ensure smooth and efficient operation
Allocate and optimize resources to meet production demands
Utilize the Maintenance Management System (eMaint) to generate work orders
Prepare and distribute incident reports promptly

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of chemical batch processing
2+ years in leadership position with demonstration of oversight of a process/processes
Solid interpersonal skills
Solid commitment to safety and integrity
Solid knowledge of safety procedures
Solid problem-solving skills
Solid organizational skills
Solid ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively
Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
High School Diploma or GED
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Credits or certifications tied to manufacturing operations, STEM, and leadership
Awareness of OSHA PSM program or equivalent requirements (e.g. N.J. TCPA)
Ion-exchange resin or wastewater treatment experience
Working knowledge of basic process control systems, PLCs, and DCSs
