About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create, edit, produce, and post organic social media content
  • Develop social media strategies to shape public narratives, reach target audiences, and drive persuasion, engagement, and activation
  • Manage social media calendars and content across all channels to achieve organizational goals, including engagement, followers, and email sign-ups
  • Own internal communications about social media reporting, strategy, and implementation
  • Lead and manage paid social advertising efforts
  • Manage 1–2 interns as needed
  • Collect and analyze social media metrics to inform strategies
  • Own social media campaigns and strategies from start to finish
  • Proofread and perform quality assurance checks to ensure error-free posts
  • Organize brainstorm meetings, create task lists, finalize content, and ensure deliverables launch on schedule
  • Build relationships with partners and creators
  • Moderate comments on social media channels
  • Shoot and produce content in the field, including interviews, events, and on-the-ground moments
  • Collaborate with the VP of Advocacy and Communications, CEO, and colleagues to shape public narratives about corruption and accountability and grow social audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be located within the United States
  • Strong preference for a presence in or regular travel to the Washington, DC, area
  • Storytelling skills for complex accountability and corruption narratives
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the mission and willingness to learn the subject matter
  • Strategic thinking focused on moving narratives and advancing the mission
  • Ability to translate leadership voices, ideas, and messaging into compelling content while contributing independent creative ideas
  • Ability to communicate shared values across ideological lines; this is not a partisan communications role
  • Strong collaboration skills across teams
  • High initiative and ability to develop and execute new ideas
  • Comfort with message testing, A/B tests, content iteration, and translating research or audience insights into published content
  • Current understanding of social media and content creation trends, including AI
  • Proven track record of growing social media programs and creating content from beginning to end, including campaign analysis and measurable results
  • Experience managing paid social media campaigns
  • Experience creating, editing, and producing videos for social media
  • High level of organization and experience managing and leading multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to accuracy, fact-checking, spelling, and grammar
  • Excellent design and copywriting skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and remain organized
  • A plus: familiarity with corruption, accountability, or technology spaces
  • A plus: familiarity working with creatives, artists, or influencers, or experience as a creator
  • A plus: additional language skills
  • Ability to operate a computer and use a cell phone
