About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the overall client relationship by providing strategic advice on coverage, risk management, and business needs
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and advising on coverage changes and contractual requirements
- Educate clients on policy exclusions and exposures
- Develop insurance plans tailored to client needs
- Act as field underwriter and authorized representative of insurance carriers to assess and bind coverage
- Manage renewal remarketing to support high account retention
- Oversee client proposals, submissions, loss evaluations, risk analyses, quotations, and policies
- Communicate billing and invoicing options
- Prepare insurance summaries, schedules, binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and related documents
- Assist clients with first reports of claims and coordinate adjusters or claims-team visits
- Facilitate prompt carrier responses to expedite claim settlements
- Conduct policy reviews during renewals and audits, verify accuracy, and execute corrections
- Communicate significant audit discrepancies and determine follow-up actions
- Review cancellation requests and attempt to retain client accounts while maintaining financial integrity
- Monitor industry developments, products, legislation, coverage options, and technology
- Recommend process improvements
- Identify and resolve complex client service issues
- Adopt innovative technology, including proprietary AI solutions, in the service process
- Perform other assigned projects, duties, and tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Property and Casualty License from state of domicile required and must be maintained
- Insurance designations such as AINS, CIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Four-year degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of account management experience in the insurance industry with a focus on commercial lines of coverage required
- Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus or required in some locations
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills for in-person and teleconference/webinar sessions
- In-depth understanding of advanced commercial lines of coverage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word
- Computer literacy and ability to learn new software applications
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, insurance ratings, and underwriting procedures
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel to client sites
- Reliable transportation
