About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, execute, and distribute regional Asia Pacific Financial Solutions (APFS) reinsurance transaction documents embodying client and RGA business objectives
- Prepare accurate and professional legal documents meeting APFS and RGA standards
- Manage efficient version control during review and negotiation
- Partner with corporate partners and subject matter experts to draft language addressing business or legal needs and applicable insurance laws and regulations
- Monitor and incorporate comments from internal RGA associates and clients
- Coordinate reviews of draft legal documents to ensure the right versions are reviewed by the right people at the right time
- Ensure documents are correctly reviewed and approved before final execution
- Manage execution by obtaining signatures on finalized legal documents on time
- Maintain an appropriate archive of APFS legal documents
- Implement continuous improvements to APFS processes and legal documents
- Assist with post-execution matters as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Minimum 5+ years of contract, legal or treaty experience
- Candidates with less experience in legal or contract drafting are also welcomed to apply
- Good English skills, including contract drafting, required
- For candidates based in Japan, Japanese language skills will be an advantage
- Understanding of reinsurance and insurance regulation
- Legal background and drive to deliver high-quality contract drafting and management
- Exceptional written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure work environment
- Ability to efficiently liaise with individuals across operational, functional, and technical disciplines
- Customer service focus
- Meticulous attention to detail and a results-driven, continuous-improvement mindset
