About the role
- Support the design, modification, and commissioning of power system protection and automation schemes
- Assist in developing substation protection schemes and specifying relays for redundant protection systems
- Prepare basic engineering drawings, sketches, and documentation under guidance
- Assist in calculating and programming substation protective relay set points
- Support commissioning activities by providing field assistance and documentation
- Learn and apply industry standards and internal design procedures
- Maintain organized project files and records
- Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and utility personnel to support project execution
- Participate in training and mentorship programs to develop technical skills
- All other duties assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Ability to travel up to 25% for field commissioning near energized equipment
- 0–2 years of engineering experience in electric utility or power systems
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) (nice-to-have)
- Internship or prior related experience (nice-to-have)
- CAD experience (nice-to-have)
