💰 $80,000 - $110,000 per year

About the role

  • Independently designing and modifying power system protection and automation schemes
  • Preparing engineering documentation and supporting commissioning activities
  • Designing substation protection schemes and specifying relays for use in redundant protection systems
  • Preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
  • Performing protective relay coordination studies and programming substation relays
  • Conducting short-circuit analysis and developing relay settings for electromechanical and microprocessor relays
  • Providing technical guidance to contractors, clients, and other engineers
  • Assisting with commissioning of new equipment and troubleshooting existing facilities
  • Analyzing fault events and preparing sequence-of-events reports
  • Ensuring all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of electric utility or power engineering experience performing engineering calculations and design work
  • Proficiency in CAD and electrical modeling software
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
