About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Generate key research questions, then design and execute studies and analyses to address them
- Interpret study results and summarize insights across formats — documents, presentations, patent applications, and publications — for different audiences
- Leverage RGC and Regeneron datasets, external resources, and the scientific/medical literature to address research questions, weighing quantitative and qualitative strength of evidence
- Support target nomination and validation by applying RGC's human genetics capabilities alongside Regeneron's therapeutics platforms and development modalities
- Partner with Clinical Development to evaluate clinical-stage programs and identify opportunities for human genetics studies that inform indication selection or safety evaluation
- Participate in the intellectual life of the Cardiometabolic TAG, RGC, and Regeneron at large, helping build an inclusive culture where everyone can perform at their best
- Represent the Therapeutic Area Genetics team in cross-functional initiatives across RGC and Regeneron
Requirements
What you’ll need- An MD with a strong background in and knowledge of human genetics and genetic epidemiology; an MD/PhD with training in translational human genetics, genetic epidemiology, or a related discipline is preferred
- Proficiency with R or similar software, and familiarity with high-performance computing environments
- Experience integrating different data resources to translate initial genetic findings, and familiarity with meta-analysis of genome-wide summary statistics
- Preferred/nice to have: experience as an investigator in Randomized Controlled Trials
- Preferred/nice to have: experience in the clinical management or medical research of cardiometabolic disease
