About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Generate key research questions, then design and execute studies and analyses to address them
Interpret study results and summarize insights across formats — documents, presentations, patent applications, and publications — for different audiences
Leverage RGC and Regeneron datasets, external resources, and the scientific/medical literature to address research questions, weighing quantitative and qualitative strength of evidence
Support target nomination and validation by applying RGC's human genetics capabilities alongside Regeneron's therapeutics platforms and development modalities
Partner with Clinical Development to evaluate clinical-stage programs and identify opportunities for human genetics studies that inform indication selection or safety evaluation
Participate in the intellectual life of the Cardiometabolic TAG, RGC, and Regeneron at large, helping build an inclusive culture where everyone can perform at their best
Represent the Therapeutic Area Genetics team in cross-functional initiatives across RGC and Regeneron

Requirements

What you’ll need

An MD with a strong background in and knowledge of human genetics and genetic epidemiology; an MD/PhD with training in translational human genetics, genetic epidemiology, or a related discipline is preferred
Proficiency with R or similar software, and familiarity with high-performance computing environments
Experience integrating different data resources to translate initial genetic findings, and familiarity with meta-analysis of genome-wide summary statistics
Preferred/nice to have: experience as an investigator in Randomized Controlled Trials
Preferred/nice to have: experience in the clinical management or medical research of cardiometabolic disease
