About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the R&D category.
- Establish category strategies and drive value with business partners across Regeneron's R&D organization.
- Design an R&D procurement function that scales with both human capability and technology-driven execution.
- Lead critical negotiations, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement for the R&D category.
- Build risk and supply chain resilience into category and sourcing strategies.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations within the biopharmaceutical industry.
- Exhibit role-model leadership behaviors across the organization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (required); an advanced degree (MBA or similar) and/or a professional procurement certification is strongly preferred.
- ~20 years of progressive experience in global procurement or category management, including a track record of taking on broader scope, higher-stakes categories, and larger teams at each career step.
- Direct experience leading procurement within a multi-national biopharmaceutical or life sciences organization, with working fluency in the R&D category specifically.
- A demonstrated record of enterprise-level influence.
- Hands-on ownership of building or substantially re-engineering a procurement function.
- Command of complex, high-value negotiations and supplier relationships, with specific, quantifiable outcomes.
- Evidence of building supply chain resilience proactively.
- Direct people-leadership experience managing Director-level (or equivalent senior) professionals.
