About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and own the product roadmap for Refinery89’s ad serving, header bidding, and monetisation infrastructure.
- Lead the full product lifecycle from discovery and prioritisation through to delivery, launch, experimentation, and iteration.
- Work embedded within engineering squads in an agile environment, participating directly in standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
- Drive experimentation initiatives focused on improving yield, fill rate, latency, viewability, and overall publisher revenue performance.
- Partner closely with data science teams to define, monitor, and interpret monetisation KPIs and platform performance metrics.
- Maintain a strong understanding of changes across the programmatic advertising ecosystem and translate them into actionable product decisions.
- Collaborate closely with commercial and publisher success teams to gather market feedback and align roadmap priorities with publisher needs.
- Write detailed product specifications, PRDs, user stories, and technical requirements consumed directly by engineering teams.
- Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, and key initiatives clearly to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Help push innovation across the platform by exploring emerging technologies, identity solutions, and monetisation opportunities within the evolving privacy landscape.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Product Manager with 5+ years of experience, including at least 3 years within an ad-tech company such as an SSP, DSP, ad network, publisher platform, or CMP.
- Deep knowledge of programmatic advertising, including RTB, header bidding (Prebid.js), ad serving, inventory management, and auction mechanics.
- A technically confident PM who enjoys working directly with engineers and understands the realities of building and scaling ad-tech infrastructure.
- Experience working closely embedded within engineering squads rather than coordinating delivery from a distance.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation, API schemas, architecture diagrams, and implementation specifications.
- A proven track record of writing detailed product requirements and technical specifications for engineering teams.
- Someone with a strong product mindset who balances business impact, technical constraints, and publisher outcomes effectively.
- A proactive and decisive operator who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys solving complex platform challenges.
- Experience within publisher-side monetisation environments is highly valued.
- Familiarity with Privacy Sandbox APIs, post-cookie identity frameworks (UID2, RampID, etc.), and evolving privacy-first advertising solutions is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of SQL and experience using data to support product decisions is a plus.
- Fluent English is required.
- Spanish is a strong plus.
