About the role

  • Architect, implement, and maintain foundational ML infrastructure to compute, store, and retrieve features used across Reddit
  • Build and operate the ML Feature Platform that powers Feeds Ranking, Content Understanding, Recommendations, Ads, and other ML systems
  • Work with ML teams (Growth, Ads, Feeds, Core ML) to deliver reliable, fast feature computation and serving at Reddit scale
  • Tinker with large-scale data, improve performance, reliability, testing, evaluation, and monitoring of feature pipelines
  • Ship platform features that directly impact content discovery and recommendation quality

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of work experience in a production software development environment
  • Experience working on large-scale systems serving 100s of millions of users
  • Experience building production-quality code incorporating testing, evaluation, and monitoring using object-oriented programming
  • Experience in Python, Scala, and golang
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of maintaining or developing applications using large-scale open source data stack (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Cassandra, Redis)
  • Comfortable with distributed systems, big data (Petabyte scale) and data-intensive systems
  • Strong organizational & communication skills
