About the role

  • Lead Ads Infrastructure Excellence team as technical leader for Reddit Ads infrastructure
  • Create and maintain foundational components for Reddit Ads infrastructure
  • Deliver software to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency of Reddit Ads services
  • Lead large-scale initiatives (e.g., infra re-architecture to enable Ads serving from multiple regions and cloud providers)
  • Develop and support dev, testing, and pre-production environments for Ads services
  • Identify gaps and lead strategic investments across Ads infrastructure
  • Work cross-functionally with Ads engineering and product teams to achieve objectives
  • Model technical curiosity, deep ownership, high standards, and mentor engineers
  • Partner with Engineering manager and leaders to drive the team’s long-term roadmap

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing and operating high performance infrastructure powering Ads, recommendations/search, or any other consumer facing products
  • Previous experience with distributed systems at web scale (thousands of nodes, hundreds of systems)
  • Strong design and development experience building services/platforms leveraging cloud infrastructure systems - Kubernetes, AWS, GCP
  • Experience in Go, Kubernetes, Argo, Flux, and other CNCF landscape projects
  • Experience with systems observability, reliability, and operational best practices
  • Strong focus on scalability, performance, user experience, and quality
  • High empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to find compromise working across the entire Ads engineering org
  • Demonstrated mentorship and technical leadership experience
