Make the developer platform easier, faster, and more powerful to build on
Design and build platform features used by developers
Lead major technical initiatives from early exploration through launch
Build systems and tools supporting future developer experiences
Work across backend, infrastructure, client, and full-stack components
Build and evolve core platform services and capabilities powering developer experience
Create capabilities that help external developers build apps on Reddit
Contribute across technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
Review code, design documents, product specifications, and user experiences
Help shape team strategy and the future direction of the platform

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of industry experience working on platform functionality, developer tools, full-stack products, or app platforms
Experience leading large-scale technical projects from design through delivery
Strong backend or platform engineering experience, with the ability to work across the stack when needed
Familiarity with C++, Java, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or React
Habit of using AI tools in daily work to improve productivity and software quality
Track record of mentoring engineers and raising software engineering practices
Passion for building high-quality software
Entrepreneurial mindset: self-directed, curious, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to turn ideas into action
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment
Ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences
Contributions to open-source projects (bonus)
Experience building Reddit apps with the Devvit platform (bonus)
