About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Locate underground utilities correctly, safely, and efficiently
Thoroughly search areas for all underground utilities
Mark utility locations properly
Complete necessary paperwork
Document each locate using a company-provided laptop and smartphone
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Travel locally during the business day
Work daytime full-time shifts, with possible overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts

Requirements

What you’ll need

1 year of utility locating experience required
Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected
Able to pass a drug screen
Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
Able to stand and walk for long periods on varying terrain
Able to bend and stoop
Able to lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
Proficiency with technology
Ability to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
Ability to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints
Basic math skills to calculate distances
Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
Customer service experience is a plus
Prior industry experience is required
