About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development of high-quality, scientifically rigorous content across complex projects, brands, and/or therapeutic areas
- Provide strategic input on scientific messaging, competitive differentiation, data inclusion and interpretation, and educational needs
- Challenge and refine project briefs for tactical relevance, strategic soundness, and scientific robustness
- Guide less-experienced medical writers on content structure, data interpretation, referencing, and strategic alignment
- Develop and strengthen relationships with clients and key opinion leaders across therapeutic areas
- Recommend content enhancements, new deliverables, and approaches that support organic growth
- Ensure deliverables meet standards of scientific accuracy, consistency, client compliance, and industry regulations
- Perform duties related to business development and departmental or agency-wide initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of experience in healthcare communications within an agency
- Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline preferred
- PhD, MD, or PharmD preferred
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to craft clear, concise, persuasive scientific narratives for diverse audiences, including primary care physicians and specialists
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across diverse accounts while maintaining high-quality standards under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
- Familiarity with online proofing platforms such as Workfront Proof and Ziflow
- Familiarity with Veeva Vault
- Proficiency with AI tools and resources for research and content development
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities with resilience and resourcefulness
- Strategic thinking and ability to analyze scientific data and distill actionable, compliant insights
