About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own day-to-day accounting: accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with Swedish accounting standards
- Year-end closing (Årsbokslut) and statutory annual report (Årsredovisning)
- Tax filings and compliance with Swedish statutory requirements
- Lead the external audit process and donor audits when required
- Maintain financial controls, routines, and supporting documentation
- Review and validate financial reporting, forecasts, and variance analysis prepared by the Project Controller
- Ensure alignment between accounting records, budgets, and donor reporting
- Provide financial guidance and training to non-finance colleagues across Europe
- Support the Director of Finance and Operations on strategic planning and finance initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of Swedish accounting regulations, tax legislation, and statutory reporting requirements (Årsredovisningslagen)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems proficiency
- Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken
- Experience from an NGO, non-profit, or international organisation is highly desirable (bonus)
- Experience working with grants, donor reporting, and restricted funding environments (bonus)
- Experience working with ERP systems; NetSuite experience is considered a strong advantage (bonus)
