Registered Dietitian
RD Nutrition ConsultantsPart-time Registered Dietitian performing nutritional assessments and developing care plans for RD Nutrition Consultants LLC. Providing education and support for patients remotely and onsite.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients, including identifying potential for disordered eating behaviors, nutritional deficiencies related to substance use, and the impact of medications used in addiction treatment.
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, considering substance use history, co-occurring mental health conditions, and the impact of medications on appetite and metabolism.
- Provide group nutrition education and counseling
- Collaborate closely with IDT team
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed to optimize outcomes and address any challenges to treatment adherence.
- Address weight-related concerns and support patients with weight management challenges, considering the potential impact of substance use on weight and body composition.
- Screen for and address disordered eating behaviors, including early identification and intervention for individuals at risk, recognizing that substance use disorders often co-occur with eating disorders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with all relevant regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Current state licensure/certification (if mandated by the state)
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Possesses the ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations, assess objectives, develop and implement and monitor effective plans for improvement.
- Proficiency in providing general nutrition interventions.
- Familiarity with state survey processes and adhering to nutrition care regulations
- Competency in electronic charting systems
