Registered Dietitian
RD Nutrition ConsultantsClinical Registered Dietitian performing nutrition assessments and planning care for patients. Flexible part-time role with hybrid work structure involving telehealth and occasional onsite visits in Iowa.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients identified at nutritional risk.
- Develop, implement and monitor individualized and evidence-based nutrition care plans.
- Offer nutrition education and counseling to patients and families.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Maintain thorough and timely electronic medical record documentation.
- Monitor patients for changes in weight, labs, fluid status, and clinical condition.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN).
- Current state licensure/certification (if mandated by the state).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting (required).
- Demonstrated experience managing patients with diverse, complex medical conditions.
- Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong familiarity with acute care workflows, electronic health records (EHR), and regulatory standards.
