About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Gather project requirements: proposed track layout, usable areas, siting constraints, and any special equipment.
- Analyze diagnostics of existing track equipment and contribute to them when necessary within the framework of Assistance to Project Owner (AMOA).
- Assess the impact of projects on track equipment and propose solutions that comply with design standards, project constraints and stakeholders’ requirements (geotechnical, civil engineering, signalling, traction, maintenance, etc.).
- Design and/or integrate new equipment when required.
- Contribute to cost estimation and the definition of track work phasing, particularly in operational environments, by identifying necessary temporary installations.
- Prepare technical reports justifying design choices and their impacts on network operations.
- Collaborate with all project contributors to understand their needs and constraints, present the impact of proposed solutions and converge on optimal solutions.
- Occasionally participate in site visits on the network or construction sites.
- Ensure the technical coordination of designers contributing to the studies.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree (Bac+5) specialized in transport infrastructure or railway systems, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or public works.
- Initial experience gained through an internship, apprenticeship or employment in infrastructure or the railway sector.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Good knowledge of CATIA V5.
- Familiarity with a railway design software (Covadis, GeoRail or equivalent) and an interest in BIM and digital tools is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a project-based environment.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills and the ability to find compromises.
- Autonomy, rigor and proactivity.
