About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in shift duties in the Water Chemistry Department under supervision.
  • Support operation of the DM plant as per standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in routine activities of the Water Chemistry Laboratory.
  • Support testing of ammonium sulphate generated during operations.
  • Assist in testing of received chemicals such as liquid ammonia, HCl, and NaOH.
  • Inform the Water Chemistry In‑Charge regarding requirement of chemicals and consumables for DM plant and boiler dosing activities.
  • Assist in identifying and informing requirements for analytical chemicals needed for laboratory operations.
  • Follow established SOPs for testing of DM plant parameters, power plant systems, process cooling water, auxiliary cooling water, and ASP parameters.
  • Assist in preparation of standard reagents and solutions and support plotting of standard curves.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to support availability and basic upkeep of laboratory and plant equipment.
  • Support senior staff in ensuring smooth and uninterrupted shift operations.
  • Assist in troubleshooting activities during deviations or disturbances in water chemistry parameters.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at reducing operational costs and improving system reliability.
  • Support and participate in water conservation activities.
  • Follow all safety practices, use prescribed PPEs, and inform the in‑charge regarding PPE requirements to help maintain a safe working environment.
