Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze data and prepare MS Excel, MS Word/PowerPoint briefing documents to support a variety of solid waste policy and planning, financial, accounting, and economic studies under the direction of team members, including implementation for recycling, composting and other programs.

Under guidance of project managers, work independently and have the ability to switch between projects quickly to meet milestones and deliverables.
When working in California, seek alignment with Proposition 218 requirements in the financial planning and decision-making processes.
Support senior staff in the development and execution of project work, business development, and marketing activities, and lead junior staff in the management and execution of project work.
Assist in benchmarking surveys and industry research.
Communicate with clients to gather data and other relevant project information.
Utilize public speaking and technical writing skills to produce, edit, and present reports, proposals, briefing documents, and presentations in a clear and succinct manner.
Maintain effective, professional attributes while dealing with clients & colleagues.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree (planning, sustainability, business, accounting, finance or other related fields)
A minimum of 3 years working on projects in the solid waste and/or sustainability industry
Strong proficiency and experience with MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint; ability to create report templates, modify report templates
Critical thinking skills; ability to formulate multiple solutions to problems, test hypothesis and develop solutions based on analysis
Ability to work under multiple project managers with competing deadlines and deliverables
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity and comfort with AI tools.
Willing and able to travel overnight as needed
