About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze data and prepare MS Excel, MS Word/PowerPoint briefing documents to support a variety of solid waste policy and planning, financial, accounting, and economic studies under the direction of team members, including implementation for recycling, composting and other programs.

- Under guidance of project managers, work independently and have the ability to switch between projects quickly to meet milestones and deliverables.
- When working in California, seek alignment with Proposition 218 requirements in the financial planning and decision-making processes.
- Support senior staff in the development and execution of project work, business development, and marketing activities, and lead junior staff in the management and execution of project work.
- Assist in benchmarking surveys and industry research.
- Communicate with clients to gather data and other relevant project information.
- Utilize public speaking and technical writing skills to produce, edit, and present reports, proposals, briefing documents, and presentations in a clear and succinct manner.
- Maintain effective, professional attributes while dealing with clients & colleagues.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree (planning, sustainability, business, accounting, finance or other related fields)
- A minimum of 3 years working on projects in the solid waste and/or sustainability industry
- Strong proficiency and experience with MS Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint; ability to create report templates, modify report templates
- Critical thinking skills; ability to formulate multiple solutions to problems, test hypothesis and develop solutions based on analysis
- Ability to work under multiple project managers with competing deadlines and deliverables
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity and comfort with AI tools.
- Willing and able to travel overnight as needed
