About the role
- Lead the Controllership functions at R2, including accounting, tax, accounts payable and financial control responsibilities
- Develop and mentor R2’s accounting and tax professionals to build a world-class Controllership function
- Develop R2’s accounting infrastructure and foundational systems across multiple LatAm countries, including implementing and managing our accounting software
- Timely and accurate production of financial statements (individual and consolidated) under local and international accounting rules
- Lead internal and external audits
- Partner with Strategic Finance & FP&A to produce reports for the executive team, Board and investors
- Design and implement a tax optimization strategy
- Manage our intercompany transactions and transfer pricing operations
- Partner with FinOps, Data, Product and Engineering to produce accurate financial reports
- Audit our financial operations to ensure that the appropriate controls are in place
- Be R2’s main point of contact for tax and accounting advice, such as for the launching of new products and features
Requirements
- Accounting Bachelor Degree at a top tier university
- Experience at a Big 4 Accounting Firm or equivalent
- At least 10 years in accounting and 5 years in coordinating accounting and tax teams
- Experience implementing and using financial/accounting software
- Proven knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and financial analysis tools
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Ability to lead a team and work alongside data engineers, product managers and software engineers
- Comfortable operating in a tech-driven company
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
