About the role
- Support Marketing Analytics for QVC and HSN across television, digital and emerging platforms to drive customer engagement
- Collaborate with Marketing, Broadcast Production, Programming, Digital and Merchandising teams
- Develop insights to support programming, marketing, ecommerce, production and planning teams
- Understand customer behavior across platforms to assign KPIs and identify trends impacting customer count, sales and viewership
- Develop weekly/monthly reporting for KPIs and provide recommendations to address shifts in trend
- Analyze viewership across 5 traditional TV channels and multiple platforms to identify opportunities
- Execute ad-hoc projects to help programming and production create and schedule compelling programming
- Work with programming team to advise on complementary and counter programming strategies
- Identify external trends/shifts and recommend data-driven responses to the evolving TV landscape
- Develop new ways of analyzing viewership data and leverage viewership and sales data for holistic on-air business insights
- Present findings using data visualization to simplify complex analysis and provide actionable recommendations
- Report to the Sr Manager Customer Analytics
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, engineering or related field
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics (digital, marketing, business or viewership)
- Experience with analysis tools including Excel, VBA, R, SPSS, Python, and SAS
- Understanding of database capabilities and integrating, structuring, and analyzing large amounts of data from diverse sources
- Demonstrated expertise with SQL, Tableau, and BigQuery
- Knowledge of digital analytics tools (Coremetrics, Google Trends, Hitwise, and Similar Web)
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau) and statistical computing tools (R, SPSS)
- Experience with query and database access tools (MicroStrategy)
- Knowledge of digital analytics, TV analytics, industry trends and best practices
- Capabilities in extracting and manipulating large datasets
- A fundamental understanding of incrementality
- Knowledge of what metrics are critical to understanding the landscape of any problem
- Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to arrive at data-driven conclusions and express them
