About the role
- Define and implement a tailored Product Assurance (PA) strategy for space technology maturation programs, ensuring alignment with ECSS standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Derive, tailor, and manage PA, MMPP, and EEE requirements, ensuring traceability to system-level objectives and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead PA activities across the product lifecycle from concept and design to early testing, including defining quality gates and key assurance milestones and participating in verification & validation activities.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and non-conformance reviews to ensure quality risks are identified early and properly mitigated.
- Conduct audits, inspections, failure investigations, and reviews to ensure both internal and external quality requirements are met.
- Support the definition and implementation of quality assurance processes for hardware components (EEE, MMPP), including procurement, assembly, inspection, and verification.
- Prepare and maintain PA documentation: PA plans, compliance matrices, verification plans, procedures and processes, NCRs, risk registers, and lessons learned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrialization Engineering or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in Product Assurance and/or Quality Assurance, ideally in the space or aerospace sector.
- Solid knowledge of ECSS and other aerospace industry PA standards.
- Knowledge of quality management standards, e.g., ISO 9001 or DIN EN 9100, is a plus.
- Technical background in one or more PA disciplines – RAMS, MMPP, EEE, Software.
- Experience with processes and requirements and in managing quality aspects of technology demonstrator programs.
- Experience auditing or qualifying suppliers in the space or other high-reliability industries.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to engage with customers, suppliers, space agencies, and internal teams.
- Comfortable taking on responsibility and ownership.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
