About the role
- Perform RF network characterization and PCB de-embedding with RF probes
- RF probing skills mandatory for critical on-laminate RF measurements of the full module as well as RF probe measurements of the individual blocks in the RF path of the module
- Setup, maintenance, and calibration of an RF test bench that includes network analyzer, power supplies, digital pattern generator
- Operation of CNC milling machine to expose access to RF probe points internal to device-under-test
- Interpret and analyze S-parameter measurements in various formats (Smith Chart, Log Magnitude, Phase) to determine accuracy and precision of collected data
- Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments
- Work from schematics, diagrams, and/or written or verbal instructions to assemble and test RF circuits and systems
- Tuning of circuits to optimize circuit performance and meet customer specifications
- Assisting in determining methods or actions for continued quality improvement
- Assisting in the design, construction, testing, and debugging of test equipment
- Collecting, filtering, and documenting large amounts of data
- Benchmarking measurements against known reference or “gold” data as part of daily routine
- Experience operating Source Pull bench in screen room to perform noise parameter measurements
- Soldering components on a PCB using a microscope when necessary
- Building harnesses required to interface with device-under-test evaluation boards
- RF module assembly related skills is a plus
- Willing to contribute and help wherever is needed in the lab
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electronics or equivalent degree is required
- At least 6 years of experience performing RF measurements in an engineering environment is required
- Basic understanding of electronic component operation is required
- Basic understanding of theoretical RF concepts such as S-parameters, impedance matching, transmission line impedance, and electromagnetic fields is required
- Strong mechanical skills required to come up with mechanical solutions to accomplish tasks
- Proficiency in the use of computers is required
- Good motor skills for working with small components and delicate RF probes are required
- Attention to detail and carefulness is critical
- Strong analytical skills
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter that will take incoming assignments and work on them without being prompted
- Team player that can coordinate with other technicians to deliver outputs that are dependent on inputs from others (e.g. milling, assembly, etc.)
- Semiconductor device testing experience is a plus
Benefits
- Health insurance
- 401(k) plan
